3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO AMEND
4 AND EXTEND A CONTRACT WITH NEW FUTURES FOR YOUTH,
5 INC., TO PROVIDE TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE TO YOUTH
6 INTERVENTION AND NEIGHBORHOOD-BASED PROGRAMS, YOUTH
7 EMPLOYABILITY AND CRISIS INTERVENTION SERVICES; AND
8 FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

10 WHEREAS, the City of Little Rock is committed to providing Prevention, Intervention, and
11 Youth Development Programs and services to enhance public safety and community-building, and
12 WHEREAS, the City has contracts with service providers that may be extended for one (1)
13 additional contract term upon appropriation, satisfactory performance and mutual agreement of the
14 parties,and
15 WHEREAS, the City desires to extend the contract with contract amount adjusted appropriately
16 based on contract performance and the City desire to amend the contract, upon mutual agreement of the
17 parties, to better define the performance requirements and meet the needs of the youth served by the
18 programs.
19 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE
20 CITY OF LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS:
21 Section 1. The City Manager has the authority to extend the contract with New Futures for
22 Youth, Inc., for technical assistance to youth intervention and neighborhood-based programs, youth
23 employability, and crisis intervention services for an amount not to exceed One Hundred Sixty Thousand
24 Dollars($160,000.00).
25 Section 2. Funds for these programs are from Special Projects Funds, account number S15A295.
26 Section 4. The term of the contract is from March 1, 2014, to February 28, 2015.
27 Section 5. Severability. In the event any portion of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be
28 invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of this
29 resolution, which shall remain in full force and effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or
30 unconstitutional was not originally a part of this resolution.
31 Section 6. Repealer. All ordinances and resolutions, and parts thereof, which are in conflict with
32 any provision of this resolution are hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict.
