3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO AMEND
4 AND EXTEND CONTRACTS WITH EIGHT (8) ORGANIZATIONS TO
5 PROVIDE YOUTH INITATIVE PROGRAMS (YIP) IN TARGETED
6 NEIGHBORHOODS; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

8 WHEREAS, the City of Little Rock is committed to providing Prevention, Intervention, and
9 Youth Development Programs and services to enhance public safety and community-building, and
10 WHEREAS, the City has contracts with service providers that may be extended for one
11 additional contract term upon appropriation, satisfactory performance and mutual agreement of the
12 parties, and
13 WHEREAS, the City desires to extend the contracts with contract amounts adjusted
14 appropriately based on contract performance and the City desire to amend the contract, upon mutual
15 agreement of the parties, to better define the performance requirements and meet the needs of the youth
16 served by the programs.
17 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE
18 CITY OF LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS:
19 Section 1. The City Manager has the authority to extend contracts for YIP-Youth Initiative
20 Programs with the amount of the contracts to be based on the performance of the contractors in amounts
21 not to exceed the following:
22 Central Neighborhood
23 Little Rock Boys/Girls Clubs-Thrasher(Female) 74,775
24 St.John Baptist Church(Male) 75,000
25 Midtown Neighborhood
26 Family Development Center(Female) 73,795
27 Better Community Development(Male) 77,112
28 Southwest Neighborhood
29 Greater Second Care(Female) 74,970
30 Greater Second Care(Male) 74,970
31 Little Rock Boys/Girls Clubs-Whetstone(Female) 74,775
32 Little Rock Boys/Girls Clubs-Whetstone(Male) 74,775

9 Section 2. The City Manager is authorized to enter into contracts with these organizations
10 providing YIP-Youth Initiative Programs for targeted neighborhoods.
11 Section 3. Funds for these programs are from Special Project Funds, account number S15A296.
12 Section 4. The term of the contract is from March 1, 2014,to February 28, 2015.
13 Section 5. Severability. In the event any portion of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be
14 invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of this
15 resolution, which shall remain in full force and effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or
16 unconstitutional was not originally a part of this resolution.
17 Section 6. Repealer. All ordinances and resolutions, and parts thereof,which are in conflict with
18 any provision of this resolution are hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict.
