HomeMy WebLinkAbout13860 1 RESOLUTION NO. 13,860 2 3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO AMEND 4 AND EXTEND CONTRACTS WITH TWELVE (12) ORGANIZATIONS 5 TO PROVIDE CITYWIDE ENHANCEMENT PROGRAMS TO LITTLE 6 ROCK YOUTH AGES SIX (6) — NINETEEN (19); MANAGEMENT 7 INFORMATION SERVICES; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. 8 9 WHEREAS, the City of Little Rock is committed to providing Prevention, Intervention, and 10 Youth Development Programs and services to enhance public safety and community-building, and 11 WHEREAS, the City has contracts with services providers that may be extended for one (1) 12 additional contract term upon appropriation, satisfactory performance and mutual agreement of the 13 parties,and 14 WHEREAS, the City desires to extend the contracts with contract amounts adjusted 15 appropriately based on contract performance and the City desire to amend the contract, upon mutual 16 agreement of the parties, to better define the performance requirements and meet the needs of the youth 17 served by the programs. 18 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE 19 CITY OF LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS: 20 Section 1. The City Manager has the authority to extend contracts for Citywide Enhancement 21 Programs, and Management Information Services with the amount of the contracts to be based on the 22 performance of the contractors in amounts not to exceed the following: 23 Positive Images in Christ(Arts and Culture, Theatre Arts) 77,860 24 Arkansas Community Dispute Resolution Centers, Inc. (Violence 100,000 25 Prevention, Bullying Education, Conflict Resolution) 26 Arkansas Symphony Orchestra Society, Inc. (Music Education) 38,948 27 UAMS (STEM-Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) 75,993 28 Museum of Discovery(Science Technology, Engineering, Math) 49,142 29 Sylvan Learning Centers(Reading, Math, Science, Language Arts) 75,000 30 Sylvan Learning Centers(Tutoring Focusing on Improving 75,000 31 Academic levels) 32 Pulaski County Youth Services(Youthonomics/ACT Prep) 19,231 33 [Page 1 of 21 1 Junior Achievement(JAG "Jobs for Arkansas Graduates", 55,000 2 Financial Literacy, Career Decisions, Work Readiness) 3 Junior Achievement(Work-Readiness Training for Summer 50,000 4 Employment Participants) 5 The First Tee(Beginning Golf) 36,480 6 LRSD-Computers 4 Kids(Micro-Computer Yechnology) 45,000 7 AR Cradle to Prison Pipeline(Parent Education/Advocacy) 45,000 8 nFocus(Management Information Systems Services) 50,000 9 Total $792,654 10 Section 2. The City Manager is authorized to enter into contracts with these organizations 11 providing Citywide Enhancement Program Services for targeted neighborhoods; and Management 12 Information System Services 13 Section 3. Funds for these programs are from 2011 Little Rock tax revenue, account number 14 S 15A266. 15 Section 4. The term of the contract is from March 1, 2014, to February 28, 2015. 16 Section 5. Severability. In the event any portion of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be 17 invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of this 18 resolution, which shall remain in full force and effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or 19 unconstitutional was not originally a part of this resolution. 20 Section 6. Repealer.
