3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE AWARD OF A
4 CONTRACTUION CONTRACT TO CRANFORD CONSTRUCTION
5 COMPANY, FOR THE 2014 STREET ASPHALT OVERLAY PROGRAM;
6 AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

8 Whereas, Street resurfacing improvements are needed within the City of Little Rock to maintain
9 existing asphalt streets; and,
10 Whereas,citizens of the City of Little Rock approved a bond issue which provided funding for these
11 resurfacing improvements,; and,
12 Whereas, Cranford Construction Company submitted the lowest bid (Bid No. 14104) meeting
13 specifications;
14 NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY
15 OF LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS:
16 Section 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized to execute an agreement with Cranford
17 Construction Company in an amount not to exceed Six Million, Three Hundred Ninety-One Thousand,
18 Twenty-Eight and 13/100 Dollars ($6,391,028.13); Five Million, Seven Hundred Fifty-Seven Thousand,
19 Six Hundred Eighty-Three Dollars($5,757,683.00) plus 11%contingency.
20 Section 2. Funding for this project is available from funding provided by Limited Tax General
21 Obligation Capital Improvement Bonds approved by citizens of the City of Little Rock.
22 Section 3. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or
23 word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or
24 adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and
25 effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional were not originally a part of the
26 resolution.
27 Section 4. Repealer. All laws, ordinances, resolutions, or parts of the same, that are inconsistent with
28 the provisions of this resolution, are hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency.
29 Section 5. This resolution will be in full force and effect from and after the date of its adoption.
