Home My WebLink About13819 1 RESOLUTION NO. 13,819 2 3 A RESOLUTION TO AWARD A CONTRACT TO RIVER CITY 4 CONSTRUCTION, PLLC, FOR THE RENOVATION OF THE CHIMP 5 EXHIBIT AT THE LITTLE ROCK ZOO; TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY 6 MANAGER TO ENTER INTO A CONTRACT WITH RIVER CITY 7 CONSTRUCTION, PLLC, FOR SUCH SERVICES; AND FOR OTHER 8 PURPOSES. 9 10 WHEREAS, the Little Rock Zoo's leadership has determined that the Zoo's Chimp Exhibit needs to 11 be renovated, and 12 WHEREAS, a Request for Proposals was issued for the chimp exhibit renovation work, and 13 WHEREAS, River City Construction, PLLC, provided the lowest responsive and responsible bid and 14 is ready and willing to accomplish the work. 15 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY 16 OF LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS: 17 Section 1. The Board of Directors hereby awards a contract to River City Construction, PLLC,to ren- 18 ovate the Zoo's Chimp Exhibit for a contract amount not to exceed Two Hundred Eighty-Nine Thousand, 19 Nine Hundred Eighty-Eight Dollars and 95/100 Dollars ($289,988.95), plus an additional 10% for any 20 needed change orders, for a total amount not to exceed Three Hundred Eighteen Thousand,Nine Hundred 21 Eighty-Seven Dollars and 84/100 Dollars($318,987.84). The Board of Directors authorizes the City Man- 22 ager to enter into a contract, in a form acceptable to the City Attorney, for such services. 23 Section 2. The funds for the contract are to come from the Zoo's Capital Fund Account. 24 Section 3. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or 25 word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or adju- 26 dication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution, which shall remain in full force and effect 27 as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional were not originally a part of the reso- 28 lution. 29 Section 4.Repealer. All ordinances, resolutions, bylaws,and other matters inconsistent with this reso- 30 lution are hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency. 31 ADOPTED: December 17,2013 32 33 (Page 1 of 2] 1 ATTEST.
