HomeMy WebLinkAbout12,145RESOLUTION NO. 12,145 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE USE OF $582,000 OF GENERAL FUND RESTRICTED RESERVE FUNDS IN THE 2006 BUDGET TO PROVIDE ONE -TIME FUNDING TO PULASKI COUNTY FOR 2006 REGIONAL JAIL OPERATIONS; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. WHEREAS, the Board of Directors has determined that public safety is its top priority, and WHEREAS, the effectiveness of City public safety efforts is highly partially dependent upon having the availability of jail beds, and WHEREAS, the City, other Pulaski County cities and Pulaski County have an agreement regarding operation of a Regional Jail, and WHEREAS, Pulaski County's anticipated revenues for 2006 may require a reduction in the number of jail beds available at the Regional Jail, and WHEREAS, the Board of Directors has determined that it is in the best interest of the City to assist Pulaski County with one -time funding for additional 2006 Regional Jail expenditures in order to maintain the number of jail beds at or above 960 -1000 beds, and WHEREAS, Board of Directors approval is required to use monies from the General Fund Restrict Reserve Fund, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS: Section 1: The City Manager may include up to $582,000 from the General Fund Restricted Reserve Fund in the 2006 General Fund budget to provide one -time funding to Pulaski County to maintain the number of jail beds available at the Regional Jail at or above 960 -1000 beds. These funds are contingent upon Pulaski County also contributing additional funding to maintain the 960 -1000 bed level. H H H H H H H ADOPTED: November 15, 2005 ATTEST: Nanc.
