3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO
4 ENTER INTO A CONTRACT WITH PIERCE CONSTRUCTION,
5 INC. TO PROVIDE OVERFLOW HVAC REPAIRS; AND FOR
6 OTHER PURPOSES.

8 WHEREAS, the City's Building Services staff is sometimes insufficient to
9 perform overflow heat and air repairs in a timely manner, and
10 WHEREAS, it has been more economically feasible to handle such repairs by
11 contract rather than increasing the Building Services staff, and
12 WHEREAS, an invitation to bid on an annual contract, under Bid No. C05004,
13 was issued to provide HVAC repairs on an hourly basis when the limited City staff
14 cannot respond in a timely manner, and Pierce Construction, Inc. submitted the most
15 responsible and responsive bid to be the primary contractor for this purpose.
16 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
17 THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
18 Section 1. The Board of Directors hereby authorizes the City Manager to enter
19 into a contract with Pierce Construction, Inc.. to provide overflow HVAC services, for
20 an estimated cost of Twenty -five Thousand, Eight Hundred Dollars ($25,800.00),
21 depending upon the amount of hours and parts required.
22 Section 2. Funds are available from Building Services Operating Budget.
23 Section 3. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence,
24 clause, phrase, or word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or
25 unconstitutional, such declaration or adjudication shall not affect the remaining

I portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and effect as if the portion so
2 declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional was not originally a part of the
3 resolution.
4 Section 4. Repealer. All laws, ordinances, resolutions, or parts of the same, that
5 are inconsistent with the provisions of this resolution, are hereby repealed to the extent
6 of such inconsistency.
