3 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AN EXTENSION OF THE
4 CONTRACT WITH THE ARKANSAS DEPARTMENT OF
5 HUMAN SERVICES, BUREAU OF ALCOHOL AND DRUG
6 ABUSE PREVENTION, TO PROVIDE ADULT SUBSTANCE
7 ABUSE TREATMENT SERVICES IN A RESIDENTIAL SETTING
8 TO LITTLE ROCK RESIDENTS; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

10 WHEREAS, the City of Little Rock is committed to providing prevention,
11 intervention and treatment services to enhance public safety, community- building, and
12 youth development for Little Rock residents; and
13 WHEREAS, the current contract with the Arkansas Department of Human
14 Services, Bureau of Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention has an option for one
15 additional one -year extension based upon their performance and Little Rock Board of
16 Directors appropriations.
17 NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
18 THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
19 Section 1. The City Manager is authorized to extend the contract with Arkansas
20 Department of Human Services, Bureau of Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention for one
21 year to provide adult substance abuse treatment services in a residential setting to Little
22 Rock residents.
23 Section 2. The term of this contract extension shall be from January 1, 2005, to
24 December 31, 2005.
25 Section 3. Funding for this contract shall not exceed $250,000 and shall come
26 from prevention, intervention and treatment funds, account number 105 - 035 -T298.

I Section 4. Severability. In the event any portion of this resolution is declared or
2 adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or adjudication shall not
3 affect the remaining portions of this resolution, which shall remaining full force and
4 effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional was not
5 originally a part of this resolution.
6 Section 5. Repealer. All resolutions, and parts thereof, which are in conflict with
7 any provision of this resolution are hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict.
