HomeMy WebLinkAbout6746 RESOLUTION NO. 6, 746 A RESOLUTION STATING THE INTENT OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK BOARD OF DIRECTORS TO APPROPRIATE AN ADDITIONAL $91 ,800 FOR CENTRAL ARKANSAS TRANSIT IN 1982 UPON THE RECEIPT OF LOCAL SALES TAX REVENUES FROM THE STATE OF ARKANSAS. WHEREAS , the Board of Directors reduced the funding level for Central Arkansas Transit by 10 percent between 1981 and 1982 ; and WHEREAS , Central Arkansas Transit was then forced to cut numerous bus routes within the city; and WHEREAS , the Board of Directors committed to restore the $51,000 that was cut in 1982 and to provide for an increase of eight percent over the 1981 appropriations for Central Arkansas Transit to allow for restoration of routes that were cut or eliminated , provided that the local option one cent sales tax was approved by the electorate of Pulaski County; and WHEREAS , the local option one cent sales tax was approved by the electorate of Pulaski County; and WHEREAS , Central Arkansas Transit must file an amended application for federal UMTA funds, including a written commitment from the City of Little Rock regarding its intent to appropriate additional dollars for 1982 for Central Arkansas Transit in order to receive additional matching funds. NOW, THEREFORE , BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK BOARD OF DIRECTORS. SECTION 1 . Upon receipt of local option sales tax revenues from the State of Arkansas , the City of Little Rock Board of Directors will appropriate an additional $91 ,800 for Central Arkansas Transit operations in 1982.
