HomeMy WebLinkAbout6736 RESOLUTION NO. 6 , 736 A RESOLUTION COMMENDING EMPLOYEES OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK FOR THEIR ROLE IN THE COUNTY SALES TAX CAMPAIGN . WHEREAS , for over 20 years , municipal and county officials and business leaders have been aware of the need for an economically responsive source of revenue for local government in central Arkansas; and WHEREAS , employees of the City of Little Rock for more than a decade have been faced with expanding responsibilities and diminishing resources; and WHEREAS , these same employees contributed countless hours of their private off-duty time after work or on vacation, as well as their own personal funds to campaign for the county sales tax; and WHEREAS , the combined efforts of Little Rock' s municipal employees contributed immeasurably to the success of the county sales tax campaign; and WHEREAS , the passage of the county sales tax is a milestone in the history of local government in central Arkansas . NOW, THEREFORE , BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS . SECTION 1 . The Board of Directors expresses their most sincere appreciation to those employees of the City of Little Rock who unselfishly contributed their time and energy to the improvement of their community by working in the county sales tax campaign. SECTION 2 . Little Rock' s municipal employees should take pride in knowing that they were an integral part of the successful effort to revitalize local government. SECTION 3 .
