HomeMy WebLinkAbout6505 RESOLUTION NO. 6 , 505 A RESOLUTION RECOMMENDING AND ENCOURAGING THE RE- ORGANIZATION AND CONTINUED INDEPENDENT EXISTENCE OF THE ROCK CREEK ARCHITECTURAL REVIEW COM{[1'U E; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. WHEREAS, the goals named of the Rock Creek Architectural Review Committee are consistent with, and supportive of, the overall objectives of good planning and proper land use within the City of Little Rock; and WHEREAS, the restrictive covenants together with its attendant guidelines, entered into between the landowners within the area described in Ordinance Nos. 13,351 and 13,372 reflect these goals and aims; and WHEREAS, the City was not a party to the restrictive covenants entered into between, and enforceable by, the landowners in the Rock Creek area whose property was rezoned by Ordinance Nos. 13,351 and 13,372; and u REAS, all parties having met building code requirements out- lined in city ordinances should be issued building permits. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS: SECTION 1. The City Manager is hereby directed to ensure that building permits are issued to all parties who have fully cannlied with all city building code requirements . SECTION 2. The Rock Creek Architectural Review Committee is encouraged to reorganize and provide guidance to various City staff and committees with the understanding that while recommendations made by the Architectural Review Committee are not legally binding, the City staff and committees are hereby encouraged to give due consideration to such recommendations. Specifically, Architectural Review Committee recommendations should, whenever ?possible, accompany the submission of plans and speci- fications to the City planning staff. Further, written staff analysis of proposed projects should state whether Architectural Review Committee recommendations have been received. Evidence that the Architectural Review Committee has reviewed a proposed project should, whenever possible, precede the issuance of a building permit. SECTION 3.
