A RESOLUTION ENDORSING PLAN X(10) OF
THE U. S . CORPS OF ENGINEERS FOR FOURCHE
BASIN FLOOD CONTROL, RECOGNIZING A COM-
PROMISE WHICH WOULD ALLOW A SMALL AMOUNT
OF CHANNELIZATION IN THE BASIN DEVELOP-
MENT, AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES .
WHEREAS , the City was concerned about the channelization
of creeks in the western part of the City since the area in
question is one of the few remaining wetlands environments
in the southern United States ; and
WHEREAS , the local district office of the U. S . Corps of
Engineers has attempted to resolve and minimize the adverse
impact of a small amount of channelization to the existing
environment ; and
WHEREAS , it has been determined that the plan as prepared is
a desirable solution to the flooding problem of the City and is
in the best interest of the City.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS
OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS :
SECTION 1 . The Board of Directors of the City of
Little Rock, Arkansas hereby endorses Plan X(10) of the U. S.
Corps of Engineers for Fourche Basin Flood Control .
SECTION 2 . This Resolution shall be in full force and
effect from and after its adoption.
