HomeMy WebLinkAbout6226 RESOLUTION NO. 6 , 226 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AND ENDORSING A FIRE PROTECTION MASTER PLANNING PROGRAM; AND FOR OTHER PURPCS S . WHEREAS , the City of Little Rock is experiencing the effects of spiralling inflation as it provides fire protection services for its citizens; and VHEREAS, from 1964 to 1979, the Fire Department's service area has increased 50%, while personnel and stations were increased 12% and 14% respectively; and HHEREAS , computer analysis indicates that at least one and possibly two additional stations are required today to provide a level of service parallel to that of 1964. NOW, THEREFORE, RE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS : SECTION 1. The Board of Directors of the City of Little Rock hereby authorizes and endorses a Fire Protection Master Planning Program for the City. SECTION 2. The Master Plan will result in the planning and implementation . . . of a general program of action for fire prevention and control. The Master Plan is reasonably expected to include CO a survey of the resources and personnel of existing fire services and an analysis of the effectiveness of the fire and building codes; (2) an analysis of the short and long term fire prevention control needs; (3) a plan to meet the fire prevention and control needs; and (4) an estimate of the costs and realistic plans for financing and implementation of the plan.
