A RESOLUTION COMMENDING FIRE CHIEF JACK D. DAVIS
FOR HIS PROFESSIONAL, DEDICATED SERVICE TO THE
CITY OF LITTLE ROCK; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES .
WHEREAS , Jack D. Davis has devoted his career and thirty-six years
of his life in service to the Little Rock Fire Department and to the
citizens of the City of Little Rock; and
WHEREAS , during his tenure with the Little Rock Fire Department,
Jack D. Davis has seen the Department grow from nine engine companies
and two ladder companies to seventeen engine companies and five ladder
companies, two rescue units, and three crash and rescue units; and
WHEREAS , Jack D. Davis has served as Chief of the Department for
fifteen years; and
WHEREAS, under his guidance as Chief, the Department has maintained
a Class 3 fire rating and has developed a level of professionalism equal
to or surpassing most fire departments in the country; and
WHEREAS , Jack D. Davis' service with the Little Rock Fire Department
has been marked with a genuine desire to always promote and protect the
best interests of the Department, Little Rock's municipal government,
and the citizens of Little Rock.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY
OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. The Board of Directors, on behalf of all the citizens
of Little Rock, express their warm and heartfelt thanks and gratitude
to Jack D. Davis for his dedicated service as Chief of the Little Rock
Fire Department.
SECTION 2. The Board of Directors do hereby remind Chief Davis
of the affection and respect in which he is held by the members of the
Board of Directors, his fellow City employees, and the citizens of the
City of Little Rock.
SECTION 3. This Resolution shall be in full force and effect from
and after its adoption.
