A RESOLUTION SUPPORTING THE INTENT OF
ZONING ORDINANCE SECTION 43-3 (3)
WHEREAS, the Little Rock Board of Directors passed a com-
prehensive zoning ordinance to protect the health, safety and
welfare of its citizens; and
WHEREAS , Section 43-3 deals with uses allowed in "A" one-
family districts; and
WHEREAS, under Section 43-3 (3) public elementary and
high schools and private and parochial schools with an equiva-
lent curriculum are allowed by right in such districts; and
WHEREAS , the intent of the Board of Directors in passing
such a provision was to include kindergarten through the twelfth
grade; and
WHEREAS, this Section was never intended to encompass,
include or allow the use of facilities for children under five
(5) in a single-family area.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS
OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. That the Board' s intention is that Section
43-3 (3) allow only kindergarten through twelfth grade levels
by right.
SECTION 2. That institutions for children under five (5)
are not intended to encompass, include or be allowed in a single-
family area by right under that section.
SECTION 3 . That the Board of Directors supports the
construction and the intent of Section 43-3 (3) .
SECTION 4 . That this Resolution shall be in full force and
effect from and after its adoption.
