A RESOLUTION WAIVING COMPETITIVE BIDDING REQUIPE ENTS
ON A CONTRACT FOR GROUP HEALTH INSURANCE AND AUTHORIZING
THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO A CONTRACT WITH BLUE
CROSS AND BLUE SHIELD OF ARKANSAS PROVIDING GROUP HEALTH
INSURANCE FOR EMPLOYEES OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK; AND
FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
WEi'EREAS, the bidding procedure is not feasible in this situation;
and
VHEREAS, it is the desire of the Board to authorize the issuance
of the contract for such insurance to the most responsive and responsible
company.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY
OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. It is hereby declared that competitive bidding is not
feasible in this situation, and, therefore, an exceptional situation
exists.
SECTION 2. The requirement of competitive bidding is hereby waived.
SECTION 3. The City Manager is hereby authorized to enter into a
contract with Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Arkansas providing group health
insurance for employees of the City of Little Rock.
SECTION 4. This Resolution shall be in full force and effect from
and after its adoption.
