A RESOLUTION TO DIRECT ALL MEMBERS OF ANY CITY
BOARDS OR COMMISSIONS TO REFRAIN FROM ANY
APPEARANCE OF IMPROPRIETY; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
[AREAS, the Little Rock Board of Directors is concerned about any
appearance of impropriety on the part of members of all City Boards and
Commissions; and
WEREAS, a loss of trust and confidence in public officials results
from conflicts of interest on the part of such officials in proceedings before
such Board or Commission; and
TIHEREAS, any participation of an official with a conflict of
interest in any proceeding may cause an alteration in the outcome that is
not in the best interest of the public:
NOW, 'THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE
CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS :
SECTION 1. That if there is any conflict on an issue that would
cause any Board or Commission member to abstain from voting on such issue,
then such member shall refrain from all discussions, participation, or any
contribution whatsoever on such issue.
SECTION 2. That all Commission and Board members shall refrain
from any appearance of impropriety on all cases, whether or not they are
directly involved.
SECTION 3. This Resolution shall be in full force and effect from
and after its adoption.
