A RESOLUTION APPOINTING AN ADVISORY BOARD FOR THE
CONVENTION/EXHIBIT AND HOTEL COMPLEX; AND FOR
OTHER PURPOSES .
WHEREAS, the City of Little Rock by ordinance pursuant to
statutory authority has levied a 1% tax on the gross receipts of
hotels, motels, restaurants, cafes and cafeterias in the City;
and
WHEREAS, the funds collected from such will be used to
develop a Convention/Exhibit and Hotel Complex; and
WHEREAS, an Executive Committee of the Convention Facility
Advisory Council must be appointed to promote the Complex and
oversee the Convention Facility Advisory Council.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS .
SECTION 1. The Board of Directors of the City of Little Rock
hereby appoints the following persons to the Executive Committee
of the Convention Facility Advisory Council :
1. Dwight Linkous, Chairman
2 . Willard Johnson, Vice-Chairman
3 . Tom Steves, Vice-Chairman
4 . Mrs . Virginia Bailey, Vice-Chairman
5 . Dr. William H. Townsend, Vice-Chairman
6 . Jim Dailey, Vice-Chairman
7 . Ken Bowen, Vice-Chairman
8 . Gene Denton, Vice-Chairman
9 . Bob Curry, Vice-Chairman
10 . Mrs. Margaret Kolb, Vice-Chairman
11. Msgr. James E. O'Connell, Vice-Chairman
12 . Tod Jurgens, Vice-Chairman
SECTION 2 . The Executive Committee is hereby authorized to
pursue the Little Rock Convention Center Phase II Project and to
report to the Board of Directors and to the Advertising & Promotion
Commission.
SECTION 3 . This Resolution shall be in full force and effect
from and after its adoption.
