A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK TO
PARTICIPATE IN THE SEWER IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT NO. 144,
EUCLID PLACE, JOHN BARROW ADDITION, LITTLE ROCK,
ARKANSAS; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, an adequate sewer system is necessary for the health and
well-being of the citizens of Little Rock; and
WHEREAS, the construction of a sewer system in the Sewer Improvement
District No. 144, Euclid Place, John Barrow Addition, Little Rock, Arkansas
is being held up due to inadequate tax base; and
WHEREAS, the City of Little Rock owns a substantial portion of land
known as Holt Park within the District; and
WHEREAS, if the City participates in the Improvement District and pays
a share equivalent to that paid as improvement district taxes by other
property owners in the area, the construction of the system will be
expected.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY
OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS.
SECTION 1. The Board of Directors of the City of Little Rock,
Arkansas hereby authorizes the City's participation in the Sewer Improve-
ment District.
SECTION 2. The Board of Directors of the City of Little Rock,
Arkansas hereby authorizes the City Manager and his staff to determine
which method of payment, yearly or lump sum, is the most cost effective
for the City.
SECTION 3. The Board of Directors of the City of Little Rock,
Arkansas hereby authorizes the payment by the City of a share equivalent
to that paid as improvement district taxes by other property owners in
the District.
SECTION 4. This Resolution shall be in full force and effect
from and after its adoption.
