RESOLUTION NO. 5,999
A RESOLUTION OF APPRECIATION AND
COMMENDATION TO THE SUMMER ARTS
FESTIVAL; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES
WHEREAS , the Summer Arts Festival was of great cultural
and educational benefit to the citizens of Little Rock; and
WHEREAS , the Festival ' s success was due to the hard work
and cooperation of numerous individuals and organizations that
gave unselfishly of their time , energy and talents ; and
WHEREAS , the City of Little Rock wishes to express her
appreciation to these individuals and organizations and commend
them for their efforts .
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF
LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS :
SECTION 1 . The Board of Directors , on behalf of all
the citizens of Little Rock , hereby extends thanks and appreciation
to the Summer Arts Festival Committee for their many months of
dedicated work. Certainly the citizens of this community have bene-
fited from their efforts .
SECTION 2 . The Board of Directors , on behalf of all the
citizens of Little Rock , hereby extends thanks to Susan K. Schallhorn ,
Chairman of the Summer Arts Festival Steering Committee .
SECTION 3 . The Board of Directors also wants to thank
the Junior League of Little Rock; the U. S . Corp. of Engineers ;
Little Rock Unlimited Progress ; the Little Rock Parks and Recreation
Department ; the Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce ; the Arkansas Arts
Center; the Arkansas Symphony Orchestra; the Arkansas Opera Theatre ;
the Arkansas Repertory Theatre ; and the Arkansas Artists in Action
Program of the Arkansas Arts & Humanities Department.
SECTION 4 . In addition , the Board of Directors wants to
thank the North Little Rock Junior League ; the Arkansas Fine Arts
Club ; the Arkansas Opera Guild; and Friends of the Arkansas Repertory
Theatre .
SECTION 5 . The Board of Directors also thanks the
Greasy Greens Band ; the Suzuki Children of Little Rock Orchestra;
the Lorene Lloyd McAfee Ballet School ; and the North Little Rock
Parks and Recreation Department .
SECTION 6 . This Resolution shall be in full force and
effect from and after its adoption .
