A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO
ENTER INTO A MEMORANDUM OF AGREEMENT WITH THE
ARKANSAS STATE HIGHWAY DEPARTMENT AND THE
TRANSPORTATION DEPARTMENT FOR THE PURPOSE OF
PRESERVING THE CONRAD HOUSE THROUGH THE CITY'S
REHABILITATION PROGRAM; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE
ROCK, ARKANSAS .
SECTION 1 . The City Manager is hereby authorized to enter into
a Memorandum of Agreement with the Arkansas State Highway Department
and the Transportation Department for the purpose of preserving the
Conrad House , located at 1410 Bragg Street in the City, through the
City ' s Rehabilitation program whereby the said house will be moved
from its present location to another location . A copy of said Memo-
randum of Agreement is attached hereto and made a part hereof, and
identified as Exhibit "A" .
SECTION 2 . This Resolution shall be in full force and effect
from and after its adoption.

EXHIBIT "A"
Memorandum of Agreement
This agreement made and entered into this day of
1978, by and between the Arkansas State Highway and Transportation
Department, hereinafter referred to as the Department and the City of
Little Rock, hereinafter referred to as the City, WITNESSETH THAT:
WHEREAS, The Department is in the process of executing a revised
Memorandum of Agreement with the State Historic Preservation Officer in
which it agrees to preserve a house at 1410 Bragg, hereinafter referred
to as the Conrad House by moving it to a new location for rehabilitation;
WHEREAS, The Department, in the contemplation of construction,
purchased land, some of which is no longer needed for the construction;
WHEREAS, The City has a program created through the Department of
Housing and Urban Development for the rehabilitation and resale of
property for residential use;
NOW THEREFORE, for the purpose of preserving the Conrad House
through the City rehabilitation program, the parties agree as hereinafter
set forth:
1. The Department agrees to move the Conrad House from its present
location at 1410 Bragg Street to a new location on the Northwest Corner
of 15th Street and Bragg Street. Title to the lot shall be conveyed to
the City by separate Warranty Deed.
2. The Department further agrees that it shall prepare the lot and
construct a proper foundation for the house and provide all utility
connections.
3. The City agrees that the Victorian style porch shall not be
altered in any structural way and that such a provision will be included
in the deed executed by the City when it sells the property.
4. The City further agrees that due to the location near 1-630
that it will include as part of its rehabilitation program double glazing
of all the windows in the house and the inclusion of central heating and
air conditioning.
