A RESOLUTION OF APPRECIATION AND
COMMENDATION TO CLIFTON L. GILES
WHEREAS , it is particularly pleasing to Arkansans when one of
their native sons becomes successful in his life 's undertaking and
such a man is Cliff Giles , born and raised in Judsonia, Arkansas,
educated in Arkansas schools , graduating from the University of
Arkansas; and
WHEREAS , in 1962 Cliff Giles began work for the Little Rock
Housing Authority as Staff Assistant, progressing to Project Adminis-
trator, to Urban Renewal Officer, to Assistant Executive Director, and
in 1969 , to Executive Director. In all these various positions , Mr.
Giles pursued the tasks at hand with diligence, ingenuity, fortitude
and patience . Cliff Giles was instrumental in bringing to the Little
Rock area, the high rise apartments for the elderly, a project that
was to fill a most pressing need of many of our senior citizens; and
WHEREAS , Cliff Giles is leaving his position with the Little Rock
Housing Authority to accept other challenges where his talents can be
utilized throughout a five state area, and the Board of Directors wish
to express their appreciation, on behalf of all the Citizens of Little
Rock, to Mr. Giles for his many years of dedicated service to the citi-
zens of Little Rock.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE
CITY OF LITTLE ROCK , ARKANSAS .
SECTION 1 . The Board of Directors , on behalf of all the Citizens
of Little Rock, hereby extends thanks and appreciation to Mr. Clifton L.
Giles for his many years of dedicated work with the Little Rock Housing
Authority . Certainly the citizens of this community have benefited
greatly from his labors and we are most grateful to him.
SECTION 2 . The Board of Directors wishes you well in your new
undertaking. May you leave with the knowledge that you have done an
excellent job and you will be missed.
SECTION 3 . This Resolution shall be in full force and effect from
and after its adoption.
