HomeMy WebLinkAbout5923 RESOLUTION NO 5,923 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF A SUBSTANDARD HOUSE TO BE REHABILITATED AND RESOLD TO A LOW OR MODERATE INCOME FAMILY ALL AS PURSUANT TO RESOLUTION NO. 5 , 870; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES WHEREAS, On December 20 , 1977 the Board of Directors adopted Resolution No. 5 , 870 which approved a pilot project to utilize existing housing stock to provide housing for low income citizens, one such means being to purchase substandard houses capable of being rehabilitated and reselling them; and WHEREAS , pursuant to the provisions of said Resolution 5, 879 , it is desired to purchase a substandard house located at 209 East 32nd Street, rehabilitate same , and offer it for resale to a low or moderate income citizen. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS . SECTION 1. The Board of Directors of the City of Little Rock hereby authorizes the purchase of a substandard house located at 209 East 32nd Street , more particularly described as the East 50 feet of Lots 1, 2 & 3 , Block 419 , DuVall 's Addition to the City of Little Rock, Pulaski County, Arkansas , from the United States Department of Housing & Urban Development for a purchase price of $9 , 000 . 00 ; further, said Board authorizes the necessary expenditures to rehabilitate said house for resale to a low/moderate income family . Funds for the purchase and rehabilitation of said house have been allocated in Community Development Block Grant funds . SECTION 2 .
