HomeMy WebLinkAbout5899 RESOLUTION NO 5,899 A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING BIDS AND AWARDING CONTRACTS FOR COMPUTER HARDWARE;TRACTORS AND MOWING EQUIPMENT; POLICE UNIFORMS AND POLICE REVOLVERS ; AMENDING RESO- LUTION # 5, 864 TO AWARD THE CONTRACT FOR THE ANNUAL PURCHASE OF DIESEL FUEL TO THE NEXT LOW BIDDER; AUTHORIZING PAYMENT; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES WHEREAS, invitation to bid was duly advertised aid bids received pursuant thereto according to law for certain items of computer hard- ware, tractors and mowing equipment and police uniforms and police revolvers; and WHEREAS , the lowest responsible and responsive bidders have been determined and it is the desire of the Board of Directors to authorize the purchase of the above named items from the lowest responsible and responsive bidders; and WHEREAS , Resolution #5 , 864 adopted by the Board of Directors on December 20 , 1977 awarded an annual contract to May Oil Company for diesel fuel and said May Oil Company has refused delivery at the contract price, therefore it is desired to award the contract to the next low bidder, Amoco Oil Company. NOW THEREFORE , BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS . SECTION 1. A contract is hereby awarded to Data Applications Corporation of Richardson, Texas for the purchase of eight Video Terminals with 12" screen at a contract price of $1, 857 . 00 each. A copy of the Abstract of Bids is attached hereto as Exhibit "A" and made a part hereof. Funds for such purchase are available in the 1978 City Budget. SECTION 2. Contracts are hereby awarded to the various bidders named on Exhibit "B" attached hereto for the purchase of certain items of police uniform and service revolvers. The specific items authorized to be purchased together with the prices therefor are also set out on said Exhibit "B" . Funds for such purchases have been pro- vided for in the 1978 City Budget. SECTION 3. Contracts are hereby awarded to the various bidders named on Exhibit "C" attached hereto for the purchase of certain tractors and mowing equipment. The specific items authorized to he purchased together with the prices therefor are alsoset out on said -2- Exhibit "C" . Funds for such purchases are available in the 1978 City Budget. SECTION 4. Resolution No. 5 , 864 adopted by the Foard of Directors on December 20 , 1977 awarded a contract to May Oil Company to supply the City during the year 1978 with diesel fuel. Subsequently May Oil Company has refused delivery at the contract price, therefore the contract for diesel fuel for the year 1978 is hereby awarded to the 1 next low bidder, Amoco Oil. Company at a cost of . 3811 per gallon subject to escalation without notice. SECTION 5 . All items authorized to he purchased herein shall comply at all times with bidding specifications . Upon receipt of such items or from time to time as necessary the City Manager and Director of Finance are hereby authorized and directed to issue the necessary warrants in payment thereof. SECTION 6. This Resolution shall be in full force and effect I from and after its adoption.
