RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK,
ARKANSAS, AUTHORIZING AN EASEMENT FOR A RECTIFIER UNIT IN SOUTH-
WEST PARK ON OAKGROVE LANE, IN THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS.
I WHEREAS, the City of Little Rock owns in fee certain lands located on Oakgrove
Lan- and known as "Southwest Park" , as more fully described on the Easement attached
hereto and made a part hereof by reference, and
q WHEREAS, Arkansas Louisiana Gas Company has requested an easement in Southwest
Park on Oakgrove Lane for installation and maintenance of a rectifier unit for
cathodic protection of underground gas pipelines in the area, as more fully described
on the Easement and drawing attached hereto and made a part hereof by reference,
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Directors of the City of Little
Rock, Arkansas:
Section 1. That the Board of Directors finds that it is to the best interest
of the City and its inhabitants that an easement be granted to Arkansas Louisiana
Gas Company for installation and maintenance of a cathodic protection rectifier
unit in Southwest Park on Oakgrove Lane, as more fully described on the attached
Easement made a part hereof by reference.
Section 2. That the Mayor and City Clerk be and they are hereby authorized and
directed on behalf of the City to execute and deliver to Arkansas Louisiana Gas '
Company the easement aforesaid.
Section 3. That it is ascertained and declared that lack of adequate cathodic
protection for underground gas lines in the City of Little Rock subjects the City
to greater fire hazards and endangers the lives, health and property of the inhabi-
tants of the City, and that such cathodic protection and all appurtenant devices
should be constructed as soon as possible in order to protect and preserve the
lives, health and property of said inhabitants. It is therefore declared that an
emergency exists, and this Resolution being immediately necessary for the preserva-
tion of the public peace, health and safety, shall take effect and be in force
immediately from and after its passage.

regular , session of the Board of Directors of Little Rock, Arkansas,

EASEMENT FOR RECTIFIER UNIT
KNOW ALL MEN BY THESE PRESENTS:
For and in consideration of the sum of TEN AND NO/100 Dollars
($10.00 ) paid by ARKANSAS LOUISIANA GAS COMPANY to THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARK. ,
the receipt of which is acknowledged, the undersigned, hereinafter referred to
as Grantor, does hereby grant and devise unto the said Arkansas Louisiana Gas
Company, hereinafter called Grantee, its successors and assigns, an easement and
servitude for the purpose of constructing and maintaining a cathodic protection
rectifier unit upon the following described land owned by the Grantor, situated
in the County of PULASKI , State of ARKANSAS
to wit:
A tract of land located in the Little Rock Southwest Park, in ..
Section 1, Township 1 South, Range 13 West, being an easement
15 feet in width by 400 feet in length , being the East 15 feet
of the west 20 feet of the North 400 feet of said Southwest
Park.
The Grantee herein desires to install for the protection of gas pipe lines at
the points designated on the attached plat, a cathodic protection rectifier.
This unit consists of an electric rectifier mounted on a pole with wires
connected to an electric power circuit, a ground-bed and underground cables,
extending from the electric rectifier pole to the pipeline and ground-bed, the
rectifier to be located on the South end of said easement
The Grantee is hereby given the right to construct the Rectifier Unit at the
points designated with the understanding that the cables and other installations
extending beyond the rectifier pole shall be buried underground.
The Grantee at any and all reasonable times shall have the right of ingress
and egress to and from such cathodic protection unit, cables and ground-bed
for the purpose of inspection and maintenance and may remove the same in part
or in whole at will.
PROVIDED, HOWEVER, that the Grantor hereby reserves the right of free use of
said property including building and excavating; and should said rectifier unit,
in any way, jeopardize said Grantor's free use of property, Grantee agrees to
remove said Rectifier Unit at Grantee's expense.
TO HAVE AND TO HOLD the rights herein granted unto the Arkansas Louisiana Gas
Company, its successors and assigns, so long as such structures are maintained,
and Grantee agrees to pay any and all damages to the property of. Grantor, which
may be suffered from the construction, operation, maintenance or removal of such
cables, ground-bed, rectifier and pole, and to further indemnify the Grantor
against any damage or liability resulting to Grantor or to any person or their
property, from or arising out of the installation, use or maintenance of the
saic Rectifier Unit on the lands of the Grantor.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF the parties have caused this agreement to be executed on
