HomeMy WebLinkAbout5877 T � RESOLUTION NO. 5,877 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE SUB-AGREEMENTS FOR PROJECTS UNDER CENTRAL ARKANSAS CETA YOUTH COMMUNITY CON- SERVATION AND IMPROVEMENT PROJECT AND THE YOUTH EMPLOYMENT AND TRAINING PROJECT; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS. SECTION 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized acting for and on behalf of the City of Little Rock to execute sub- agreements under the Central Arkansas CETA Youth Community Conservation and Improvement Project and the Youth Employment and Training Project with those operating agencies , for those projects and in those respective amounts all as set forth in memorandum dated December 22 , 1977 attached hereto as Exhibit "A" and made a part hereof as same as if set out herein word for word. SECTION 2 . This Resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its adoption. McMullin, City Manager SUBJECT: Youth Program Sub-Agreements Authorization is hereby requested for the City Manager to execute sub- agreements for the following projects under the CACETA Youth Community Conservation and Improvement Project; and the Youth Employment and Training Program: YOUTH COMMUNITY CONSERVATION AND IMPRO vim PROJECTS TOTAL BUDGET $112,225 1. Operating Agency - OIC or EOA Pr�Title and Funding Level. - Home Insulation and Repair - 9 Brief Project Description - City government proposes to provide nine out-of-school participants the opportunity to learn good work habits and skills in insulation work and building repair. Participants will earn $2.65/hour. 2. Operating Agency - Pulaski County.Sanitation.Department Project Title and Funding Level.- Dump Reclamation Project - $37,942 Brief Project Description - Pulaski.County. Sanitation Department proposes to 1.nvc vl e thirteen in-school youth in a dump reclamation project. Participants will receive work experience in. planting pro- cedures and solid waste removal. Enrollees will work 20 hours a week at $2.65/hr. for 36 weeks. 3. Operating Agency - Faulkner County. Project Title and Funding Level. - City of.Conway, ,Parks & Recreation -- $18,689 Brief Project Description - City.of.Conway, .Parks and Recreation De- partment proposes to involve five out-of-school youth in the improve ment and beautification of city parks. Participants will work 32 hours a week at $2.65/hr. Oa erating Agency - Lonoke County.Government_ Fro ect Title and Funding Level - Courthouse Renovation Project - 6,1 .7 Brief Project Description - Lonoke County Government proposes to prose three out-of" s—ch of youth the opportunity to acquire basic skills in the carpentry trades by involving them in a court reno- vation project. Participants will work 32 hours a week at $2.65 an hour for 4 months. 5. Operating Agency - Central Arkansas Development Council Project Title and Funding Level. - Youth Community Conservation and Improvement Project - $8,743 Brief Project Description - CADC proposes to provide one in-school three out-of-school youth with employment opportunities in basic carpentry, roofing, insulation and painting. Out-of-school youth will work 32 hours a week at $2.65 an hour for 36 weeks. In-school youth will work 10 hours a week at $2.65 an hour for 30 weeks. YOUTH EMPLOYMENTT & TRAINING PROGRAM TOTAL BUDGET $537,376 1. Operating Agency - Opportunities Industrialization Center Project Title and Funding Level - In-School.Youth Program. - $160,000 Brief Project Description - OIC proposes to serve 60 in-school youth in Pulaski County, in a tutorial and employability development pro- gram. Participants will attend tutoring classes 10 hours a week for 30 weeks and receive stipends of $2. 35 an hour. airing the summer months they will engage in a work training experience program. Each enrollee will work 24 hours a week and spend an additional 6 hours a week in work orientation and motivational sessions. They will be compensated for a total of 30 hours a week at $2 .65 per hour for 10 weeks. • 2. Enrollees will work 32 hours a week at $2,65 an hour for a 9 month period. 3. Operating Agency - Urban League.of.Greater Little Rock Proj'ect Title and Funding_-Level. - Youth Career Orientation Project for Pulaski County - $115,506 Brief Project Description - Urban League proposes to provide career orientation job sampling, on-the-job training observation and career counseling for 80 in-school and out-of-school youth. Each enrollee will receive $265 an hour for a total of 320 hours. 4. Operating Agency - Central Arkansas Development Council Project Title and Funding Level.- Youth Employment and Training Pro- gram - $41, D Brief Project Description - CADC proposes to provide career and em-' ployability training coupled with work training experience for 12 in-school and ( oat-of-school youth in Saline County. In-school youth will work 15 hours per week at $2.65 an hour for 36 weeks and out-of-school youth will work 32 hours per week at $2.65 an hour for 36 weeks. 5. eratir Agency -- Lonoke County. . Employment and Training Program -mac ,2236 Brief Project Description - Lonoke County government proposes to serve 21 out-of-school and one in-school youth in a career employ- ment program.
