A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO
MAKE AND FILE APPLICATION WITH THE BUREAU OF
OUTDOOR RECREATION OF THE UNITED STATES DEPART-
MENT OF INTERIOR FOR A GRANT OF FUNDS TO BE
USED FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF UNIVERSITY PARK
AND MOREHART PARK; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES
WHEREAS, the United States of America has available to munici-
palities certain matching funds for the development of park lands
under Section 5 of the Land and Water Conservation Fund Act of
1965 , which grants are administered through the Department of
Interior, Bureau of Outdoor Recreation; and
WHEREAS , the City made application in September 1976 for these
funds, but there was insufficient monies to fund the application and
the City desires to once again make application for such funds for
use in the development of University Park and Morehart Park in the
City of Little Rock.
NOW THEREFORE , BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE
CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS.
SECTION 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized to make and
file application to the Bureaucf Outdoor Recreation, United States
Department of Interior, for assistance to develop lands for recrea-
tional facilities for the City of Little Rock, which application shall
be filed prior to August 31 , 1977 .
SECTION 2 . The City Manager is hereby authorized and directed
to execute for and in behalf of the City of Little Rock any and all
instruments pertaining to the said application which shall be neces-
sary for the purposes described herein.
SECTION 3 . This Resolution shall be in full force and effect
from and after its adoption.
