Home My WebLink About5762 RESOLUTION NO 5,762 A RESOLUTION SELECTING & EMPLOYING ENGINEERS FOR THIRD YEAR COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT PROJECTS; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS. SECTION 1 . Engineers to provide professional services for Third Year Community Development Block Grant projects are hereby employed as follows : A) Project I - HODGES, VINES, FOX & CHASTIN Street , sidewalk and drainage construction, including curb, gutter and underground storm drainage as identified on Exhibit "A" attached hereto and made a part hereof. B) Project II - BLAYLOCK, THREET & ASSOCIATES Street projects, including curb, gutter and underground storm drainage as identified on Exhibit "B" attached hereto and made a part hereof. C) Project III - GARVER. & GARVER Drainage construction as identified on Exhibit "C" attached hereto and made a part hereof. Funds for these engineering services have been allocated for such purposes . SECTION 2 . This Resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its adoption. Will include curb and gutter with underground storm drainage. Cost estimated to be $60,000. Picron: 9th Street to 10th Street. The length to be improved is 460' and the width is 27' . Street will be paved , will include curb and gutter p wiwith underground storm drainage. Cost estimates to be :$69.00a Concord: 9th Street to 10th Street. 400' length , 27' wide. Street will be paved , will include curb and gutter, and have underground storm drainage. Estimated cost, $180,000. Leonard: 9th Street to 10th Street. 400' in length. 27' wide. Street will be paved and include curb and gutter with underground storm drainage. Estimated cost, $50,000. Folsom: 6th Street to 10th Street. Length 1 ,200' , width 27' . Street will be paved , and will include curb and gutter with underground storm drainage. Estimated cost, $180,000. Concord: 8th Street to 9th Street. 320' length, 27' wide. Street will be paved and will include curb and gutter with underground storm drainage. Estimated cost, $48,000. Kimball : 50 Street to 4th Street. Length 240' , 27' wide. Streets wilI 'be paved and will include curb and gutter with underground storm drainage. Estimated cost, $36,000. East 27th Street: Cumberland to Rock . Length 240' , width 27 ' . Street will be paved and will include curb and gutter with underground .storm drainage. Estimated cost , $36,000. Street Construction in Ives Courts: Length 900' , typical width will be 27 ' . Street will be paved and will include curb and gutter with underground storm drainage. Estimated cost, $80,000. SIDEWALK PROJECTS Sidewalk will be installed on streets with existing curb and gutter. • Sidewalks will be four inches in thickness and four feet wide. Expansion joints will be included at four feet intervals. The projects will include: Bond: 6th Street to 4th Street. Estimated cost, $10,000. Last 22nd Street : Rock to Main. Estimated cost , $4 ,000. • CONTRACT NO. I - DRAINAGE PROJECTS Drainage structures are existing such that all work involves improvements of existing conditions , except where otherwise noted. Central Little Rock area: Construct new underground drainage between Spring and Center in the vicinity of 24th Street. Completion of the new underground storm drainage system will complete the major under- ground work on the Center Street ditch. Estimated cost, $100,000. Woodruff School area: The existing drainage structures and the concrete line are inadequate and will be replaced by new drainage structures and concrete line, also earthen ditch sections will be replaced on the Plateau Street channel from 7th Street to Martin, and Lateral "C" channel from Martin to Valmar. Also, new underground storm drainage will be constructed to supplement existing underground storm drainage on the Plateau Street channel from Martin to Valentine Street. Estimated cost, $369,000. Total for Contract I is $1 , 222 ,000 . EXHIBIT "B" West 31st Street: Chester to Fulton. 545' length, 27' wide. Street will be paved , will include curb and clutter with underground storm drainage. Estimated cost, $135,000. Izard Street: West 30th Street to Short 32nd Street. 900' length, 27' wide. Street will be paved and will include curb and gutter with underground storm drainage. Estimated cost, $135,000. West 31st Street: State to Fulton. 545' length, 27' wide. Street will be paved and will include curb and gutter with underground storm drainage. Estimated cost, $82,000. West 30th Street: State to Fulton. 550' length , 27' wide. Street will be paved and will include curb and gutter with underground storm drainage. Estimated cost, $82,000. Long 32nd Street: State to Fulton. 545' length, 27' wide. Street will be paved and include curb and gutter with underground storm drainage. Estimated cost, $82,000. Short 32nd Street: State to Fulton. 500' length , 27' wide. Street will be paved and will include curb and gutter with underground storm drainage. Estimated cost, $75,000. Ludwig: West 29th Street to West 36th Street. 1 . 165' length , 27' wide. Street will be paved and will include curb and gutter with underground storm drainage. Estimated cost, $175,000. Walker: West 32nd Street to 33rd Street. 165' length, 25 ' wide. Street will be paved' and will include curb and gutter with underground storm drainage. estimated cost, $25,000. Zion: West 33rd Street to West 36th Street. 500' length, 25' wide. Street will be paved and will include curb and gutter with underground storm drainage. Estimated cost, $75,000. Cobb: West 32nd Street to West 36th Street. Street will be paved and will include curb and gutter with underground storm drainage. Estimated cost, $100,000. Cobb: West 39th Street to West 40th Street. 165' length, 25' wide. wide. Street will be paved and will include curb and gutter with underground storm drainage. Estimated cost $25,000. Walker: West 37th Street to West 44th Street. 1 . 165' length , 25' wide. Street will be paved and will include curb gutter with underground storm drainage. Estimated cost, $175,000. III - DRAINAGE PROJECTS Drainage structures and existing such that all work involves improvements of existing conditions, except where otherwise noted. Stephens School area: Line D. , 17th Street at Martin to 16th Street at Maple. Concrete culvert, reinforced concrete pipe, and concrete ditch. Line A.', 13th at Maple, south to 16th at Maple. All rein- forced concrete pipe with new street. Line B. , 14th Street between Pine and Cedar, zig-zag to 16th and Maple. Reconstruction of ditch with reinforced concrete. Line C. , 15th between Allis and Johnson, south to existing ditch on 18th Street. Reinforced concrete pipe. Estimated cost, $429 ,000. Oak Forest area: Complete the improvement on Blakemore Ditch to Jackson Street. Correct the. situation on Blakemore under the building at Asher Avenue (the structure under the building on the south side of Asher Avenue is inadequate, thereby causing the ditch to back up and flood the area between 31st Street and Asher Avenue) . Lewis Street Ditch, Phase I . , an interim measure from Asher Avenue to 24th and Elm to replace inadequate drainage structures and widen the ditch section. The problem at this location is being aggravated by work being performed in the Stephens School area. Also, if funds permit, two bridges , one on 14th Street, and one on 19th Street, will be replaced by new structures . Estimated cost , $581 ,000. • • CONTRACT NO. III - STREET PROJECTS Simpson: Milburn to Caroline. 900' length, 27 ' wide. Street will be paved, and will include curb and gutter with underground storm drainage. Estimated cost, $135,000. SIDEWALK PROJECTS Sidewalk will be installed on streets with existing curb and gutter. Sidewalks will be four inches in thickness and four feet wide. Expansion joints will be included at four feet intervals. The projects will include: Central Little Rock area: Sidewalks will be repaired where possible and new sidewalks will be installed where necessary. Estimated cost, $40,000. Central High School area: Sidewalks will be repaired. Estimated cost, $50,000. Totals for Contract III is $1 ,235 ,000 . • •
