A RESOLUTION AWARDING A CONTRACT FOR THE PURCHASE
OF ROCK SALT; EXTENDING A CONTRACT FOR CARPENTRY
WORK AT CITY HALL; AUTHORIZING PAYMENT; AND FOR
OTHER PURPOSES
WHEREAS , invitation to bid was duly advertised and bids received
pursuant thereto according to law for the annual purchase of rock
salt; and
WHEREAS , the lowest responsible and responsive bidder has been
determined and it is the desire of the Board of Directors to authorize
the purchase of said rock salt from the lowest responsible and respon-
sive bidder; and
WHEREAS , on December 21, 1976 a contract for carpentry work was
awarded to James Kroskey, d/b/a James Construction Company of Little
Rock, Arkansas at the rate of $26. 99 per hour, which contract was ex-
tended for additional carpentry service pursuant to Resolution No. 5, 683
of the Board of Directors adopted March 22 , 1977 , and it is once again
desired to extend this contract for approximately 555 additional hours
at an hourly rate of $26.99.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE
CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS.
SECTION 1. A contract is hereby awarded to Carey Salt Company
for the purchase of Rock Salt in one hundred pound bags at a unit cost
of $1. 74 per 100 lb. bag. This contract is for twelve months and shall
expire May 31, 1978 . Contract price shall not exceed the sum of money
so designated for such purchases in the 1977 Budget for the City of
Little Rock, Account No. 277-2212-2 . 10. A copy of the Bid Tabulation
is attached hereto as Exhibit "A" and made a part hereof as though set
out herein word for word .
SECTION 2 . That certain contract awarded to James Kroskey, d/b/a
James Construction Company of Little Rock, Arkansas on December 21,
1976 and extended on March 22 , 1977 , is hereby extended once more
to provide for an approximate 555 hours of additional carpentry
services in renovation of City Hall. Cost for such extension shall
not exceed the sum of $15, 000.00, which funds are available in Budget
Account # 499-8049-8 .01. A copy of Bid tabulation is attached hereto
as Exhibit "B" and made a part hereof as though set out herein word
for word.

SECTION 3 . The supplies authorized to be purchased herein
and the work authorized to be performed herein shall at all times
comply with bidding specifications on file in the office of the
Purchasing Department of the City. The City Manager and Director of
Finance are hereby authorized and directed to issue the necessary
warrants from time to time in payment thereof.
SECTION 4. This Resolution shall be in full force and effect
from and after its adoption.
