RESOLUTION NO 5,552 A RESOLUTION AWARDING CONTRACTS FOR CERTAIN 1975-76 COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT PROJECTS; AUTHORIZING PAYMENT; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES WHEREAS, invitation to bid was duly advertised and bids received pursuant thereto according to law for the following 1975-76 Community Development Block Grant physical projects : a) Interior Painting, East Little Rock Community Complex b) Street Reconstruction and Storm Drainage in the Model Cities Area c) Street and Storm Drainage Improvements in the John Barrow Area d) Street Reconstruction and Storm Drainage in the Oak Forest Area e) Water Facilities Site Improvement in the John Barrow Area f) Demolition of 16 condemned structures and site clearances g) Construction of Access Ramps at Broadway & Markham Streets and Arch & Markham Streets to accommodate handicapped persons; and, WHEREAS, the lowest responsible and responsive bidders have been determined and it is the desire of the Board of Directors to authorize the commencement of these projects to the lowest responsible and responsive bidders. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS . SECTION 1 . A Contract is hereby awarded for interior painting at the East Little Rock Community Complex to the successful bidder I and at the contract price as set out on Exhibit "A" attached hereto and made a part of this Resolution. Funds for this pro- ject have been previously allocated from 1975-76 Community Development Block Grant funds. SECTION 2 . A Contract is hereby awarded for Street Recon- struction and Storm Drainage in the Model Cities Area to the successful bidder and at the contract price as set out on Exhibit "B" attached hereto and made a part of this Resolution. Funds -2- for this project have been previously allocated from 1975-76 Community Development Block Grant funds. SECTION 3. A Contract is hereby awarded for Street and Storm Drainage Improvements in the John Barrow Area to the successful bidder and at the contract price all as set out on Exhibit "C" attached hereto and made a part of this Resolution. Funds for this project have been previously allocated from 1975-76 Community Development Block Grant funds . SECTION 4. A Contract is hereby awarded for Street Recon- struction and Storm Drainage in the Oak Forest Area to the successful bidder and at the contract price all as set out on Exhibit "D" attached hereto and made a part of this Resolution. Funds for this project have been previously allocated from 1975-76 Community Development Block Grant funds . SECTION 5 . A Contract is hereby awarded for Water Facilities Site Improvement in the John Barrow Area to the successful bidder and at the contract price all as set out on Exhibit "E" attached hereto and made a part of this Resolution. Funds for this pro- ject have been previously allocated from 1975-76 Community Develop- ment Block grant funds . SECTION 6 . Contracts are hereby awarded for the demolition of 16 condemned structures to the successful bidders and at the contract prices all as set out on Exhibit "F" attached hereto and made a part of this Resolution. Funds for said demolition have been previously allocated from 1975-76 Community Development Block Grant funds. SECTION 7. A Contract is hereby awarded for the construction of access ramps located at Broadway & Markham Street and Arch and Markham Street to accommodate handicapped persons to the successful bidder and at the contract price all as set out on Exhibit "G" attached hereto and made a part of this Resolution. Funds for this project have been previously allocated from 1975-76 Community Development Block Grant funds . -3- SECTION 8 . Work on all the projects identified in Sections 1 through 7 shall at all times comply with bidding specifications and plans on file in the office of Comprehensive Planning. SECTION 9 . The City Manager and Director of Finance are hereby authorized and directed to issue the necessary warrants from time to time as deemed necessary in payment of the contract prices of the projects herein set out. SECTION 10. This Resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its adoption.
