A RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING ADMISSION FEES FOR PUBLIC
SWIMMING POOLS OWNED AND OPERATED BY THE CITY OF
LITTLE ROCK; PROVIDING FOR THE RENTAL OF SUCH POOLS
TO PRIVATE, CIVIC AND CHURCH ORGANIZATIONS; AND FOR
OTHER PURPOSES .
WHEREAS , the City Manager and the Director of Parks and Recreation
have conducted an appraisal of the efficiency of the operation and
maintenance of swimming pools at War Memorial Park, Gillam Park and
East End swimming pool; and
WHEREAS , the said Manager and Director have concluded and
recommended to the Board of Directors that the admission fees to
said pools should be increased in order to help defray the costs
of the operation thereof and that said pools need to be closed at
regular intervals for the purpose of cleaning the pools and for the
additional purpose of providing time off for the employees .
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS .
SECTION 1. The admission fees to the various swimming pools
owned and operated by the City of Little Rock is hereby set as
follows :
Persons under the age of 16 :
Gillam Park $ . 50
East End Pool $ . 50
War Memorial Park $ . 75
Persons over the age of 16 :
Gillam Park $ 1 . 00
East End Pool $ 1. 00
War Memorial Park $ 1. 00
SECTION 2 . It appears that there is a demand from time to time
from private, civic and church groups to rent an entire pool at times
when it is not otherwise open to the public and it is determined the
rental of the pools to such groups is hereby permitted. The City
Manager is hereby authorized to negotiate the rental fee with any
such group desiring to rent the entire pool taking into consideration
the cost of the operation for such rental period caused by the

the divergences of the numbers and ages comprising these groups ;
provided however that the rental for the pools to any such group
shall be not less than $40 . 00 and not more than $150 . 00 for such
rental period.
SECTION 3 . Because of the necessity of cleaning the pools
and to provide off time for pool employees the City Manager upon
the advise of the Director of the Parks and Recreation Department
• shall close each pool at regular intervals for these purposes .
SECTION 4 . This Resolution shall take full force and effect
from and after the date of its adoption.
