A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER OF
LITTLE ROCK TO ACQUIRE FEDERAL FUNDS FOR THE
CLEAN CITY CO MI'1'1EE: AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, the Board of Directors of the City of Little Rock has endorsed
the Clean Camiunity System as developed by Keep America Beautiful, Inc. and
supports the participation of the City of Little Rock in this system, and
WHEREAS, the Board of Directors of the City of Little Rock has provided
for the organization of an official Clean City Committee to carry out the
design of the Clean Community System, and
WHEREAS, the operation of such a committee will require an expenditure
not provided for in our city's present budget, and
WHEREAS, ACTION, the Agency for Volunteer Service, is a federal agency
established July 1, 1971, for the purpose of providing funds and/or volun-
teers for the implementation of solutions or improvements to defined com-
munity problems.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY
OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS.
SECTION 1. The City Manager of the City of Little Rock shall have the
authority to file a grant application, including all understandings and as-
surances contained therein, with AC: ON, the Agency for Volunteer Service.
SECTION 2. The City Manager of the City of Little Rock shall act as
the official representative for the City of Little Rock and will provide
Iany and all information required by AMON pursuant to the grant applica-
tion.
SECTION 3. The City Manager of the City of Little Rock shall not ap-
ply for funds to exceed the amount of five thousand dollars ($5,000.00) ,
such moneys to be used for exclusive, authorized purposes of the Clean City
Committee.
SECTION 4. This Resolution shall be in full force and effect from and
after its adoption.
