RESOLUTION NO. 5,535
A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING AN OFFER OF THE ARKANSAS STATE
HIGHWAY COMMISSION WHICH DESIRES TO ACQUIRE THREE PARCELS
OF LAND IN THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK PORT INDUSTRIAL PARK
• FOR THE PROPOSED EAST BELT FREEWAY •AND AUTHORIZING THE
MAYOR TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT FOR THE SALE OF SAID PROPERTY
TO THE ARKANSAS STATE HIGHWAY COMMISSION AND UPON THE
COMMISSIONS EXERCISING THE CONTRACT TO. SALE AUTHORIZES
THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE A DEED AND THE CITY CLERK TO ATTEST
SAME IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE PROVISIONS OF THE CONTRACT OF •
SALE; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS.
SECTION 1. The Little Rock Port Authority by Resolution dated
May 10 , 1976 recommends accepting an offer of the` Arkansas State
HigW y Commission which desires to acquire three parcels of land
in the City of Little Rock Port Industrial. Park fog' -the`proposed
East Belt Freeway. The Board approves the sale as recommended and
authorizes the Mayor to execute a contract for this sale to the

Arkansas State Highway Commission and upon the Commissions ex-
ercising the contract to sale authorizes the Mayor to execute a
need and the City Clerk to attest same in accordance with the- pro-
visions of the contract of sale. Said Contract is attached here-
to and made a part of this Resolution by reference.

SECTION 2 . The parcels of land to be sold to the Arkansas State
. Highway Commission are identified by the parcel numbers of said Corn_
mission and are to be sold to the Highway Commission for the consider- .
ation shown after each parcel number. -
Parcel 311 and 3118 to be sold the Highway Commission for a
consideration of $136,,525 . 00 is described more fully as follows :
Part of the Northeast Quarter of the Southeast Quarter of
Section 17 and part of the Northwest Quarter of the South-
west Quarter and part of the Northeast Quarter of the South-
west Quarter and part of the Southeast Quarter of the North- '
west Quarter and part of the Southwest Quarter of the North- .
east- Quarter of Section 16 all in Township 1 North, Range 11
West, Pulaski County, Arkansas , more particularly described •
as follows :
Beginning at the Northwest Corner of the Northwest Quarter

SECTION 3. This Resolution shall be in full force and effect from
and after its adoption.

Dear Mr. Kemp:
The Resolutions which you executed on the 10th of May in favor of the
Arkansas State Highway Commission in connection with the above job
have been accepted.
The Arkansas Highway Department has executed a Minute Order transferring
Tract 313R, comprising 13.46 acres, of subject job to you in exchange
for a part of your property at a consideration of $11, 106.00. There-
fore, the net payment to the City of Little Rock will be $148, 519.00.
A warrant in the amount of $148, 519.00 will be requisitioned from the
Treasury of the State of Arkansas as soon as our attorneys have verified
title to the property and will be paid to you upon your execution of a
deed and the release of any mortgages or encumbrances upon the land
conveyed by the deed. Under normal conditions, about 60 days are
required to complete this entire transaction.
We will expedite this matter as rapidly as possible. If there are
reasons which necessitate more than 60 days to make full payment, you
shall be advised by letter.
Your cooperation is appreciated, and we trust this has been handled
to your satisfaction.

R E S O L U T I O N •
WHEREAS , certain lands belonging to the City of Little
Rock are required for the East-Belt Freeway; and
WHEREAS , the planned location of the East-Belt Freeway
will enhance the value of the Little Rock Port Authority
Industrial Park, and increase its value as a distribution
center;
NOW, THEREFORE RE IT RESOLVED:
That the Little Rock Port Authority unanimously recommends
to the Board of Directors, City of Little Rock acceptance of
the offer of the Arkansas Highway Department for three parcels
of land, to wit:
Tract 311 18.53 + 6.41 Acres $136,525
Tract 312 0. 27 Acres $ 100
Tract 314 6 .57 Acres $ 23,000
