A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO
MAKE APPLICATION FOR FUNDS TO THE FEDERAL
HIGHWAY ADMINISTRATION; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES
WHEREAS, under the provisions of the Federal Highway
Administration Bikeway Demonstration Program funds could be
available for the construction of a bikeway for transportation
purposes; and
WHEREAS , the Parks and Recreation Department, the Depart-
ment of Community Services and the Arkansas Highway Departments
Planning and Research Division have developed a preliminary
plan and an application to be submitted to the Federal Highway
Administration; and
WHEREAS, this plan ties together segments of the Wilbur
Mills Expressway-Bikeway now being constructed together with
segments of the Boyle Park Bikeway and the Murray Bikeway.
NOW THEREFORE , BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS
OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS .
SECTION 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized to make
application to the Federal Highway Administration for funds to
allow the City to complete their planned Bikeway Program.
SECTION 2 . This Resolution shall be in full force and
effect from and after its adoption.
