HomeMy WebLinkAbout13734 1 RESOLUTION NO. 13,734 2 3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER 4 INTO A CONTRACT WITH EVS MIDSOUTH FOR THE PURCHASE 5 OF FIREFIGHTING PROTECTIVE COATS AND PANTS FOR THE 6 LITTLE ROCK FIRE DEPARTMENT; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. 7 8 WHEREAS,certain protective clothing is required in order to provide the best protection possible for 9 the uniformed personnel of the Little Rock Fire Department while fighting fires and performing rescues; 10 and, 11 WHEREAS, Bid No. C13008 was issued and EVS Midsouth submitted the only bid meeting 12 specifications for an annual contract to provide protective coats and pants for the uniformed Fire 13 Department personnel, at a cost of One Thousand, One Hundred Eighty and 53/100 Dollars ($1,180.53) 14 for coats and Eight Hundred Thirty-Six and 42/100 Dollars($836.42)for pants; and, 15 WHEREAS, this will be an annual contract, renewable for two (2) years, upon agreement of both 16 parties; 17 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY 18 OF LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS: 19 Section 1. The Board of Directors hereby authorizes the City Manager to enter into an annual 20 contract with EVS Midsouth to provide approximately eighty (80) sets of PBI coats and pants for all 21 uniformed personnel of the Little Rock Fire Department, at a cost of One Thousand, One Hundred Eighty 22 and 53/100 Dollars ($1,180.53) for coats and Eight Hundred Thirty-Six and 42/100 Dollars ($836.42) for 23 pants; and, 24 Section 2. This annual contract will be renewable for two(2)years, upon agreement of both parties. 25 Section 3. Funds for this purchase are available in the Little Rock Fire Department's General 26 Budget. 27 Section 4. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or 28 word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or 29 adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and 30 effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional were not originally a part of the 31 resolution. 32 Section 5. Repealer. All laws, ordinances, resolutions, or parts of the same, that are inconsistent 33 with the provisions of this resolution, are hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency.
