HomeMy WebLinkAbout5239 4 RESOLUTION NO. 5,239 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE FINANCE OFFICER OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK TO DISBURSE FUNDS HERETOFORE APPROPRIATED FOR RIGHT OF WAY PURPOSES OF GEYER SPRINGS ROAD AND BASELINE ROAD PRESENTLY OWNED BY CECIL M. BUFFALO UPON RECEIPT OF A PROPER DEED TO THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK OR BY A PROPER COURT ORDER CONDEMNING THE LAND AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS . SECTION 1. The City of Little Rock in its undertaking to widen and improve a portion of Geyer Springs Road in the vicinity of its intersection with Baseline Road in the City of Little Rock needed to acquire from Cecil M. Buffalo certain lands owned by him at that intersection. In the furtherance of this project, the City instituted Eminent Domain proceedings to acquire this land and after further negotiation has agreed to pay to Mr. Buffalo the sum of Sixty-nine Thousand Five Hundred Dollars ($69 ,500 . 00) for the following described right of way : Part of the Southwest Quarter of the Southwest Quarter of Section 31 , Township 1 North, Range 12 West , Pulaski County , Arkansas , more particularly described as follows : Starting at the Southwest corner of the Southwest Quarter of the Southwest Quarter of Section 31 , said corner also being at existing Centerline Station 60+00 of Geyer Springs Road; thence North 02° 46 ' East along said existing Centerline a distance of 19 . 20 feet to a point; thence South 86° 54 ' East a distance of 30 . 00 feet to a point on the existing easterly right of way line of said Road for the point of beginning; thence North 02° 46 ' East along said existing right of way line a distance of 155 . 00 feet to a point; thence South 86° 54 ' East a distance of 10 . 00 feet to a point on the proposed easterly right of way line of said Road; thence South 02° 46 ' West along said proposed right of way line a distance of 113. 92 feet to the point on the proposed northerly right of way line of Baseline Road; thence South 42° 14 ' East along said proposed right of way line a distance of 14 . 14 feet to a point; thence South 81° 53 ' East along said proposed right of way line a distance of 126 . 85 feet to a point; thence South 02° 46 ' West a distance of 20 . 00 feet to a point on the existing northerly right of way line of said Baseline Road; thence North 86° 54 ' West along said existing right of way line a distance of 146 . 30 feet to the point of beginning and containing 5 ,143 square feet , more or less . -2- SECTION 2 . The said Cecil M. Buffalo has agreed to convey the above described property to the City of Little Rock upon payment of the consideration aforesaid by executing a real estate option dated June 9 , 1974 , which is hereby accepted by the Board of Directors of the City of Little Rock and the Finance Director of the City of Little Rock is hereby authorized and directed to disburse the sum of Sixty-nine Thousand Five Hundred Dollars ($69 ,500 . 00) heretofore appropriated for the purposes of widening and improving Geyer Springs Road upon conveyance of title to the City of Little Rock as approved by the City Attorney' s office.
