A RESOLUTION RECOMMENDING IMPROVEMENTS TO EAST
ROOSEVELT ROAD; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES
WHEREAS, East Roosevelt Road in the City of Little Rock
from Confederate Boulevard east to Lindsey Road has been made
part of the State Highway System under the jurisdiction and
responsibility of the Arkansas State Highway Department; and
WHEREAS , the condition of said roadway is such that traffic
congestion increases daily creating a condition detrimental to
the future development of the eastern portion of the City of
Little Rock industrially, commercially and otherwise; and
WHEREAS, the staff of the Arkansas State Highway Commission
presently is studying and contemplates proposing immediate
improvements to said roadway which would relieve the congestion
of traffic now existing all in the public interest and for public
purpose.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS .
SECTION 1 . The Board of Directors of the City of Little
Rock hereby endorses the proposal of the staff of the Arkansas
State Highway Commission to provide improvements and maintenance
to East Roosevelt Road from Confederate Boulevard East to Bond
Street making same a three lane highway all within the existing
right-of-way for said roadway. It is respectfully recommended
that the Highway Commission issue work orders for such improve-
ments as soon as plans are developed for same. The Board is
pleased that these improvements are contemplated and looks forward
to their early completion.
SECTION 2 . This Resolution shall be in full force and
effect from and after its adoption.
