A RESOLUTION OF COMMENDATION TO THE LATE MAX A.
MEHLBURGER; APPROVING INSTALLATION OF "MEHLBURGER
MARKERS" REPRESENTING SURVEY REFERENCE POINTS IN
THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES
WHEREAS , Max A. Mehlburger, during his lifetime , devoted
his time , energies and talents in establishing a professions)
licensing system for land surveyors in Arkansas and likewise
through his efforts greatly enhanced the reliability of land
lines and contributed to orderly public and private land use
planning; and
WHEREAS , the Little Rock Engineers Club, the Association
of Registered Land Surveyros and former friends and associates
of the said Max A. Mehlburger, propose in his memory, to estab-
lish a trail of bench marks and survey reference points through-
out downtown areas of Little Rock, said markers to be approximately
32 inches in diameter inserted flush with the concrete sidewalk
surface and to be known as "Mehlburger Markers" ; and
WHEREAS , the City of Little Rock recognizes the value of
such reference survey markers and would express gratitude to those
professional friends of Mr. Mehlburger for this worthy public
contribution .
NOW THEREFORE , BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS .
SECTION 1. The City of Little Rock hereby expresses gratitude
to the late Max A. Mehlburger for his devoted efforts in the estab-
lishment of a professional licensing system for land surveyors in
Arkansas which greatly enhanced the reliability of land lines and
also his contribution to orderly public and private land use
planning.
SECTION 2 . The Little Rock Engineers Club of Little Rock,
the Association of Registered Land Surveyors and former friends
and associates of Max A. Mehlburger are hereby authorized to
establish a trail of bench marks and survey reference points

with the installation of twenty-five bronze discs in the
sidewalks at selected locations in the City of Little Rock,
said markers to be approximately 32 inches in diameter and
inserted flush with the concrete sidewalk surface and known
as "Mehlburger Markers" .
SECTION 3 . This Resolution shall be in full force and
effect from and after its adoption.
