A RESOLUTION COMMITTING THE CITY TO PARTICIPATE
IN A COMMITTEE STUDY DESIGNED TO BRING ABOUT
MAXIMUM UTILIZATION OF COMMUNITY FACILITIES;
AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES
WHEREAS , the Community Council of Central Arkansas has
proposed a plan to accomplish better utilization of community
resources and facilities in the City of Little Rock and the
Little Rock School District; and
WHEREAS, the Little Rock School Board has endorsed and
committed itself to become a participant in a community study
designed to implement the proposed plan of the Community
Council; and
WHEREAS , the City of Little Rock is desirous of partici-
pating in such study.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS
OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS .
SECTION 1 . The City of Little Rock hereby endorses and
commits itself to participate in a steering committee study
with the School Board of the Little Rock School District and
the Community Council of Central Arkansas , which study will
undertake the development and implementation of a workable plan
or plans to bring about the maximum utilization of all community
resources and facilities in the City of Little Rock and the
Little Rock School District for the benefit of all citizens.
The said steering committee is to be composed of the following:
a) Two members from the Little Rock City Board of Directors
to be appointed by the Mayor
b) Two members from the Little Rock School District Board
of Directors
c) One member from the City Manager' s Staff
d) One member from the school district administrative staff
e) One representative from the Community Council.

SECTION 2 . The City Manager, or his designated represen-
tative , is hereby authorized to join the Superintendent of the
Little Rock School District , or his designated representative ,
in preparing a detailed plan for a summer recreation program
identifying available facilities and sources of funding such
program.
SECTION 3. This Resolution shall be in full force and
effect from and after its adoption.
