RESOLUTION NO 5,086
A RESOLUTION COMMENDING MR. PAUL E. LARSON
FOR HIS SERVICE TO THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK
IN ESTABLISHING A COMPUTERIZED DATA PROCESSING
CENTER; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES
WHEREAS , the City of Little Rock has initiated a project
to modernize its data processing and information handling
techniques with the assistance of complex and intricate com-
puter hardware; and
WHEREAS , the City of Little Rock requested assistance
under the provisions of the Intergovernmental Personnel Act
for a systems executive to develop plans , make studies and
establish a computer center and systems effort; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Paul E. Larson, Assistant Director of the
Data Processing Center for the U. S. Department of Labor volun-
teered to assist the City of Little Rock for one year in its
computer project.
NOW THEREFORE , BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS
OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS.
SECTION 1. Since his assignment to the City of Little Rock
on October 1, 1972 Mr. Paul E. Larson has demonstrated profes-
sional competence , diligence and mature judgment in assisting
with the development of computer plans , design of system feasi-
bility studies and oversight of the acquisition and installation
of computer hardware.
SECTION 2. Mr. Larson' s experience , knowledge and insight
immeasurably contributed to the successful negotiation and exe-
cution of computer contracts and insured that deadlines were
completed on schedule. Further, his depth of managerial and
technical skills enhanced the organizing and staffing of the
City' s first automatic data processing center.
SECTION 3. The City of Little Rock is most appreciative
to have had Mr. Larson for his one year of service in its local
government and hereby commends him for accomplishments reflecting
his abilities as a true professional in the computer field.

SECTION 4. This Resolution shall be in full force and
effect from and after its adoption.
