A RESOLUTION AWARDING A CONTRACT FOR STORM
DRAINAGE IMPROVEMENTS ON GAINES STREET BE-
TWEEN MARKHAM AND SECOND STREETS ; WAIVING
COMPETITIVE BIDDING; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE
ROCK, ARKANSAS.
SECTION 1. Inasmuch as the property at the Northwest corner
of Second and Gaines Street is presently being improved and in such
improvement project is being required to install storm drainage
along Gaines Street North from Second Street all underground, the
contractor for said project, namely: Daniel Construction Company
of Little Rock, Arkansas, is hereby awarded the contract to continue
the underground storm drainage improvements North on Gaines Street to
Markham Street utilizing approximately 164 lineal feet of 15" RCP
Pipe at a cost not to exceed $1, 644. 00 and the cutting and replacing
of two driveways at a cost not to exceed $300 .00 for a total contract
price of not to exceed $1, 944.00 .
SECTION 2 . The Board of Directors has determined that herein
quoted contractor ' s price is more reasonable than could be obtained
by the City following the preparation of plans and specifications
and the advertising for bids for such improvements and therefore,
competitive bidding is hereby waived.
SECTION 3 . Upon completion of the herein provided improvements
acceptable to the Department of Community Development, the City
Manager and Director of Finance are hereby authorized and directed
to issue the necessary warrant or warrants in payment of the con-
tract price herein provided.
SECTION 4. This Resolution shall be in full force and effect
from and after its adoption.
