HomeMy WebLinkAbout4886 RESOLUTION NO . 4'886 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE LITTLE ROCK PORT AUTHORITY TO EXECUTE A CHANGE ORDER WITH THE RAILWAY CONSTRUCTION COMPANY, INC. , OF ENNIS , TEXAS , TO INCLUDE IN A CONTRACT WITH THAT CON- CERN THE CONSTRUCTION OF A RAILROAD SPUR TO SERVE INDUSTRIES WITHIN THE PORT AUTHORITY INDUSTRIAL PARK; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES WHEREAS , on June 15 , 1971 , the City of Little Rock and the Little Rock Port Authority entered into a contract with the Railway Construction Company , Inc. , of Ennis , Texas , to construct certain spurs of the Little Rock Port Authority Railroad same being identified as the Little Rock Port Authority Railroad Spur-- Rock Island Connection contract, and; WHEREAS , the Port Authority has sold certain tracts of land to the Democrat Printing and Lithographing Company to which it is obligated to furnish a railroad spur adjacent to the property so sold, and; WHEREAS , the Railway Construction Company , Inc. , is still engaged in the construction work on the Little Rock Railroad Spur-- Rock Island Connection to which the Democrat Printing and Litho- graphing Company spur tract will connect and that it is the recom- mendation of the Little Rock Port Authority that a change order be executed adding the Democrat Printing and Lithographing Company' s spur to the original contract. NOW, THEREFORE , BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS . SECTION 1 . The Port Authority of the City of Little Rock is hereby authorized to entered into and sign a change order with the Railway Construction Company, Inc. , of Ennis , Texas, adding to the Little Rock Port Authority Railroad Spur--Rock Island Connection I contract, at the same unit prices so far as they are applicable, the addition of a spur to the tract of land sold to Democrat Printing and Lithographing Company at a cost not to exceed the sum of Twenty-six Thousand and No/100 Dollars ($26 , 000. 00) .
