A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF
ONE 20 CUBIC YARD GARBAGE TRUCK; WAIVING
COMPETITIVE BIDDING; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES
WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. 4748 adopted February
15 , 1972 International Harvester Company was awarded a contract
for three 20 cubic yard garbage trucks at a cost of $16 ,754 . 00
each; and
WHEREAS, International Harvester Company has agreed to
supply one additional such truck at the same purchase price
for immediate delivery; and
WHEREAS, there is an immediate need for such vehicle
which under the circumstances justifies purchasing same from
International Harvester Company and waiving competitive bidding.
NOW THEREFORE , BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS
OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS.
SECTION 1. International Harvester Company is hereby
awarded a contract to provide and sell to the City one 20 cubic
yard garbage truck complying in all respects with the specifi-
cations for those like vehicles delivered pursuant to provisions
of Resolution No. 4748 adopted February 15 , 1972 .
SECTION 2 . The need for immediate delivery which is pro-
mised by International Harvester on the identified garbage
vehicle creates an exceptional situation justifying the waiving
of competitive bidding and such is hereby directed.
SECTION 3. Upon receipt of the vehicle provided for in
Section 1 hereof complying in all respects with the bid speci-

fications , the City Manager and Director of Finance are hereby
directed to issue the necessary warrant or warrants in payment
of said purchase price.
SECTION 4 . This Resolution shall be in full force and
effect from and after its adoption.
