A RESOLUTION TO THE MEMORY OF ERIC EUGENE
OLIVER AND JERRY JOSEPH JACOBS,
WHEREAS, Eric Eugene Oliver and Jerry Joseph Jacobs were
accidentally killed on Saturday January 16, 1972 in the Public
Service of this City fighting a fire under the most adverse
conditions at 3rd and Main Streets; and
WHEREAS, in the performance of their duties under the
circumstances then prevailing both Mr. Oliver and Mr. Jacobs
demonstrated unquestionably a quality loved and admired by all
namely: courage and willingness "to lift more than their share
of any given .load" -
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS,
SECTION 1. In memory of Eric Eugene Oliver and Jerry Joseph
Jacobs The Board of Directors by this Resolution records the sincere
appreciation of all residents of this City for the public service
of all dedicated public employees and especially those whose
assigned duties and responsibilities necessarily places their
safety and lives in jeopordy.
SECTION 20 This Resolution shall be in full force and effect
from and after its adoption,
