A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY
MANAGER TO MAKE APPLICATIONS TO THE
STATE COMMISSION ON CRIME AND
LAW ENFORCEMENT FOR FUNDS TO BE USED
FOR VARIOUS PURCHASES AND SERVICES
WITHIN THE POLICE DEPARTMENT; AND
FOR OTHER PURPOSES
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF
LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS .
SECTION 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized acting
for and on behalf of the City of Little Rock to make such
application or applications as may be required to the State
Commission on Crime and Law Enforcement for funds to defray
the cost of the following services and the purchase of equipment :
Application No. 1. Surveylance equipment - Two U. S . surplus
starlight scopes for Little Rock Police
Department
Total Cost - $2 ,000. 00
Federal Funds requested $1 ,650 . 00
Local matching funds 550 . 00
Application No. 2 . Conference on organized crime - To send
forty officers to two and one-half day
school on organized crime
Total Cost - $7 , 100 . 00
Federal Funds requested $5 ,000. 00
Local matching funds 2 ,100 . 00
Application No. 3 . Communications equipment - For purchase
of one low band frequency base station ,
six low band frequency radios and one
mobile repeater station
Total Cost - $14 ,365 . 00
Federal Funds requested $8 , 619 . 00
Local matching funds 5 ,746 . 00
Application No. 4 . Communications equipment - For purchase
of eighty-four 4-channel mobile radios ,
fifty portable "handie talkie" 4-channel
radios , twenty-five speech scramblers ,
six motorcycle radios , monitor, and a
monitor for sheriff' s frequency
Total Cost - $141 ,546 . 00
Federal Funds requested $84 ,928. 00
Local matching funds 56 ,618 .00

SECTION 2 . This Resolution shall be in full force and
effect from and after its adoption.
