A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE BOARD OF
COMMISSIONERS OF THE LITTLE ROCK MUNICIPAL WATER
WORKS TO USE CERTAIN CITY LANDS FOR WATERWORKS
PURPOSES
WHEREAS, the City of Little Rock, Arkansas, owns a
tract of land designated as Gilliam Park; and
WHEREAS, by Resolution No. 4, 137 dated January 20,
1969, the Board of Directors of the City of Little Rock authorized
the Board of Commissioners of the Little Rock Municipal Water
Works to install water storage tanks upon a portion of said lands
in the E2 of the SFr of Section 23 , Township 1 North, Range 12
West, Pulaski County, Arkansas ; and
WHEREAS, the Water Works is now in the process of
installing new storage facilities and needs an access road across
the park lands to reach the tank site ; and
WHEREAS, if the City will participate in the cost, the
Water Works has agreed to build a road wider and longer than is
necessary for waterworks purposes ; and
WHEREAS, the Board of Directors has determined that
the proposed road is for a necessary public purpose, will not
adversely affect the use and occupancy of Gilliam Park and, in
fact, will benefit the park; Now, Therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE
CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
Section 1. The Board of Commissioners of the Little
Rock Municipal Water Works is hereby authorized to construct an
access road in Gilliam Park at the approximate location shown on
the plat prepared by Mehlburger Engineers , Inc . , dated July,
1971, entitled "Granite Mountain Reservoir , Little Rock Municipal

Water Works , Road Layout, " which map is attached to and made
a part of this resolution. The road shall be a minimum of
20 feet in width. Before any work is commenced, the construction
specifications shall be submitted to and approved by the Parks
and Recreation Department of the City of Little Rock.
Section 2 . Upon completion of the road, the City
shall pay to the Water Works the sum of $6, 150.00 as partial
reimbursement for the cost of construction.
