A RESOLUTION APPROVING A PLAN FOR RESIDENT
EMPLOYMENT FOR THE MODEL CITIES PLAN, AUTHORIZING
SUBMISSION OF THE RESIDENT EMPLOYMENT PLAN TO
THE DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING AND URBAN DEVELOPMENT;
AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES .
WHEREAS , a plan for resident employment for the Model Cities
Plan has been prepared in conformity with Department of Housing
and Development City Demonstration Agency' s Letter Number 11; and
WHEREAS , the City of Little Rock, in order to improve the
living and economic conditions of people living in the Model
Neighborhood, finds it necessary and desirable with respect to
all employment public and private, generated by components of
the Program, to improve and expand the recruitment, training
and hiring opportunities for residents of the Model Neighborhood
through preferential recruitment, living and training systems.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS
OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS .
SECTION 1. The Resident Employment Plan for the Model
Cities Plan is hereby approved.
SECTION 2. The City Manager is hereby authorized and
directed to submit the said Resident Employment Plan to the
Department of Housing and Urban Development for its approval.
SECTION 3. This Resolution shall be in full force and
effect from and after its adoption.
