RESOLUTION NO. 4,287
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK
TO APPLY FOR WATER GRANTS FROM THE DEPARTMENT OF
HOUSING AND URBAN DEVELOPMENT OF THE UNITED
STATES OF AMERICA UNDER PROVISIONS OF P.L. 89-117
AND DESIGNATING AN AUTHORIZED OFFICER TO MAKE
APPLICATION THEREFOR
WHEREAS, the waterworks system serving the City of Little
Rock is owned by the City but is operated and maintained by the
Board of Commissioners of the Little Rock Municipal Water Works
under authority of state law and city ordinance; and
WHEREAS, under certain circumstances, the Department of
Housing and Urban Development of the United States of America
is authorized to make grants to municipalities under the pro-
visions of P.L. 89-117 ; and
WHEREAS, such grants might be available to the City of
Little Rock for its municipal waterworks system from time to
time; Now, Therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF
LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. That Jack H. Wilson, Manager of the Little Rock
Municipal Water Works, be, and he is hereby, authorized to
execute and file an application on behalf of the City of
Little Rock, Arkansas, with the Department of Housing and Urban
Development, United States Government, for a grant to aid in
financing the construction of pumping facilities for the
Pleasant Valley Treatment Plant and pipe lines for an intermediate
distribution system and pipe lines in the Sweet Home area ,
and an assurance of compliance with the Department of Housing
and Urban Development regulations under Title VI of the Civil
Rights Act of 1964 .
SECTION 2 . That Jack H. Wilson, Manager of the Little
Rock Municipal Water Works, be, and he is hereby, authorized
and directed to furnish such information as the Department of
Housing and Urban Development may reasonably request in
connection with the application which is hereby authorized to
be filed.
