A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF
THE LITTLE ROCK MUNICIPAL WATER WORKS TO USE CERTAIN
CITY LANDS FOR WATERWORKS PURPOSES
WHEREAS, the City of Little Rock, Arkansas, owns a tract
of land designated as Gilliam Park; and
WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners of the Little Rock
Municipal Water Works has requested permission to install two
water storage tanks upon a portion of said lands ; and
WHEREAS, the Board of Directors has determined that the
contemplated use of said lands by the Water Works is for a
necessary public purpose and will not adversely affect the use
and occupancy of Gilliam Park by the public; Now, Therefore :
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF
LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
Section 1. At its convenience now or in the future, the
Board of Commissioners of the Little Rock Municipal Water Works
is hereby authorized to improve its service to the public by
installing two water storage tanks upon the following described
lands situated in Gilliam Park:
A part of the Ek of the SE4 of Section 23, Township
1 North, Range 12 West, Pulaski County, Arkansas,
more particularly described as follows : Begin at a
point on the East line of said SEk which is
approximately 100 feet South of the Northeast corner
thereof and run thence South along said East line
approximately 1,500 feet; thence West 350 feet;
thence North 700 feet; thence East 250 feet; thence
North approximately 800 feet; thence East 100 feet
to the point of beginning.
Section 2. The permission hereby granted shall not
relieve the Board of Water Works Commissioners from the obli-
gation of complying with Act 186 of 1957 ; portions of that
•
Act specify that any construction proposed by a utility must
be submitted to the Planning Commission for review, recommenda-
tion and approval.
