HomeMy WebLinkAbout3991 .9. • • RESOLUTION NO. 3, 991 A RESOLUTION FIXING THE DATE FOR HEARING ON A PETITION BY THE HOUSING AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS , AND PHILANDER SMITH COLLEGE , TO VACATE , ABANDON AND CLOSE CERTAIN ALLEYS LOCATED IN THE HIGH STREET URBAN RENEWAL PROJECT , PROJECT NO. ARK R-6 IN THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS. WHEREAS, the Housing Authority of the City of Little Rock, Arkansas and Philander Smith College have filed with the Little Rock City Board of Directors their Petition praying that the following described alleys in the High Street Urban Renewal Project , Project No. ARK R-6 in the City of Little Rock, Arkansas, as more particularly described in said Petition and the Plats attached thereto, be vacated, abandoned and closed , and has alleged that the Urban Renewal Plan for said Project adopted by this Board of Directors on November 21, 1960, by Resolution No. 2610, provided for the abandoning and closing of the aforementioned alleys , which alleys are set forth below: - Page 2 1. North-South alley in Block 221, Original City of Little Rock, Pulaski County, Arkansas (Block bounded by Gaines , West 13th, State and West 14th Streets) more particularly described as follows: Beginning at the northeast corner of Lot 1, run easterly 20 feet to the northwest corner of Lot 12; thence run southerly 300 feet along the eastern R. O.W. line of said north-south alley to the southwest corner of Lot 7; thence, run westerly 20 feet to the southeast corner of Lot 6; thence, run northerly 300 feet along the western R. O.W. line of said north-south alley to the northeast corner of Lot 1, the point of beginning. 2. An apparent dedication of a north-south strip of land in Block 243 , Original City of Little Rock, Pulaski County, Arkansas (Block bounded by Chester , West 14th, Izard and West 13th Streets) more particularly described as follows: Beginning at the northeast corner of Lot 1, run easterly 3.3 feet to the northwest corner of Lot 12; thence, run southerly 150 feet along the west boundary line of Lots 10, 11 and 12 to the southwest corner of Lot 10; thence, run westerly 3.3 feet to the southeast corner of Lot 3; thence, run northerly 150 feet along the east boundary line of Lots 1, 2 and 3 to the northeast corner of Lot 1, the point of beginning. 3. North-south alley in Block 244 , Original City of Little Rock, Pulaski County, Arkansas (Block bounded by Izard, West 14th, Chester and West 13th Streets) more particularly described as follows: Beginning at the northeast corner of Lot 1, run easterly 20 feet to the northwest corner of Lot 12; thence , run southerly 300 feet along the eastern R. O.W. line of said north-south alley to the southwest corner of Lot 7; thence , run westerly 20 feet to the southeast corner of Lot 6; thence , run northerly 300 feet along the western R. O.W. line of said north-south alley to the northeast corner of Lot 1, the point of beginning. 4. North-south alley in Block 245, Original City of Little Rock, Pulaski County, Arkansas (Block bounded by Chester , West 11th, Izard and West 12th Streets) more particularly described as follows: Beginning at the northeast corner of Lot 1, run easterly 20 feet to the northwest corner of Lot 12; thence , run southerly 300 feet along the eastern R. O.W. line of said north-south alley to the southwest corner of Lot 7; thence run westerly 20 feet to the southeast corner of Lot 6; thence, run northerly 300 feet along the western R. O.W. line of said north-south alley to the northeast corner of Lot 1, the point of beginning. Page 3 NOW, THEREFORE , BE IT RESOLVED, by the Board of Directors of the City of Little Rock, Arkansas: Section 1. That the 17th day of June 1968, at 7:30 o'clock P .m. in the Chambers of the Board of Directors of the City of Little Rock, Arkansas is the date and time and place picked for the hearing on this Petition. Section 2. That the City Clerk of Little Rock, Arkansas give notice of such hearing by publication once a week for two consecutive weeks in some newspaper published in the County and having a general circulation in the City, stating in said notice name of Petitioners , a description of the alleys to be vacated, and advising all persons that on the date named above , the Board of Directors will hear the Petition and determine whether said alleys should be closed.
